Year-Round Lawn Care for Knoxville Homeowners

October 15, 2026 Perfect Landscaping & Lawn Services

Knoxville has four real seasons, and a good-looking yard changes its to-do list with each one. Treating lawn care as a year-round routine, not a summer chore, is what keeps a property looking cared for in every month.

Spring is cleanup season. Clear winter debris, cut back anything that died back, edge the beds, and put down fresh mulch. This is also a good time to patch bare spots in the lawn and plant new shrubs and flowers while the weather is mild.

In summer, the work is regular mowing, trimming, and keeping weeds out of the beds. Mow often enough that you never remove too much of the blade at once, and keep hedges and shrubs trimmed back from windows and walkways.

Fall is the biggest cleanup of the year. Leaves need to come off the lawn before they mat down, beds need a last weeding and cleanup, and shrubs can be shaped before they go dormant. This is also a good time to lay sod and plant trees and shrubs, since roots establish in cooler weather.

Winter is quieter, but not empty. Brush clearing, pruning of dormant shrubs, and tidying beds are all good winter jobs, and getting them done now means less to do when spring growth kicks in.
